Jen Hunt is the founder and lead math consultant for New Math Minds. As an author, teacher-trainer, and speaker, she has spent the last seven years consulting in elementary schools in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and California, and working with teachers from over 75 school districts. Her work has been focused on helping schools improve math programs and teachers make small and significant tweaks to make a difference for children.

An elementary teacher for over a decade with degrees in education and psychology, she approaches teaching through the lens of child development, brain research, and best practice. Other areas of expertise include small group math instruction, developing number sense, primary interventions, maximizing management for efficiency, and reflective practice. Jen earned a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Teaching from Whitworth University and lives outside of Portland with her husband and two young sons.
